Lessons from 10+ Years of Making “Content”
1. 10 Lessons, 10 Years
Here’s are some things I’ve learned from 10+ years as a content creator.
1. Don’t Make Content – rather Document Cool things or the “Making of such Cool things”.
2. “Do” before you talk about “Doing” stuff
3. Make for an Audience of ONE. And that one is you.
4. It’s not Quality or Quantity. It’s Both.
5. Community comes before Content. Content is just food for the community. So build communities.
6. The moment you are afraid to fail is when you start losing.
7. Forget likes and views. The only metric that matters is “Am I proud of making this and will I consume this?”
8. Put YOU before THEM. They subscribed to watch YOU. Not THEM.
9. Build an Evergreen Library of quality media that accrues in value over time.
10. Build your 1000 True Fans. That’s all you need.
2. The Daily Dispatch
If you are a Content creator or wanna be one, having a look a the “Daily Dispatch” method is worth it.
Here’s a video I made that might help you with that 👇
3. Favourite Quote of the Week
“Education is the ability to listen to almost anything without losing your temper or your self-confidence”.
– Robert Frost
That’s it for this week folks!
See you in the next one 🙂
Best,
Kesh.
