1) Why I'm drawing the same thing for a year
Last year (2025), I completed 365 days of Drawing – Where I did 12×30 day challenges over 12 months.
This year, to continue that streak, I’ve decided to draw the same thing, everyday for….wait for it….a year. ✏️
Yes,
A whole year of drawing the same thing. 😤
What I’m doing?
• I’m going to be drawing and exploring my OC (Original Character) Kumar for an entire year.
• Every month, I’ll have a theme to explore with my OC – For example;
Jan: is a month of ‘Dynamic Expressions’
Feb: Dynamic Poses
Mar: Story Drawings
And so on..
But, the big question is, why am I even doing this? 🤔
Here’s why:
• I want to learn the ART of FOCUS and understand what it truly means to pursue depth in something over width.
• I want explore many things without being distracted, by using ONE thing as a vehicle to explore my curiosities.
• I want to simply get better at one thing – and character design leads to big returns in skill development.
• I want to practice being bored and being OK with it.
• I want to stop thinking about my dream project and start building it by drawing its main character.
• I want to cut the noise and reach many people through one thing, not many.
So these are all the reasons why I’m doing this.
