The Time will never be right

I’ve always wanted to make an Animated Feature Film.

Not a short, not a reel, but a full-on animated feature.

But that dream? It felt so damn far away. 😔

💸 I didn’t have the money.
👥 I didn’t have the team.
I had just barely learned how to draw well myself.

And it all felt like… maybe “someday.” You know?

So I kept telling myself:

“Let me work on my art skills.”
“Let me build a studio first.”
“Let me make more money.”
“Let me “get ready.”

Years passed on.

The dream? Still just a dream.

Always too far. Always not now.

Then, one day, it hit me:
The time will never be right.

I’ll never be “ready” enough to make this film.

So I called up my animator friend from Kolkata and said:

“Let’s make a short film. Not someday. Not next month. Let’s do it in 48 hours.”

No budget. No prep. Just 48 hours, one animator, two editors who didn’t even draw, and me.

We brainstormed the story.
We sketched the characters.
We drew the scenes.
We animated. We edited. We poured everything into it for a period of 2 days. 😵‍💫

And 48 hours later,
We finished the film.

I cried when I saw the final cut. 🥹

Not because it was perfect-
but because we did it.

I saw my drawings move.

That short film?
It went on to hit 431,000+ views. 🤯

All that, from 48 hours of just showing up. 🚀

No perfect timing. No fancy gear.
Just a decision to start.

So here’s what I’ve learned the hard way:

The time will never be right.

For the drawing habit you’ve always wanted.
For the comic idea sitting in your sketchbook.
For the artist you know you’re meant to become.

The time will never be right.
You’ll never be free enough.
You’ll never be ready enough.

You start anyway.

Especially, when the time ISN’T Right

And when you learn to get it done in the wrong time?

Weirdly, that will be the right time. ⌛

So what ever it is that you’re waiting to do,

Start now.

The best time to plant a tree was 10 Years ago,

The second best time is now.

P.S. If you’ve always wanted to start drawing again, I built something for that exact moment.

My 100 Day Program – Drawing Camp – that is meant for those who wants to learn drawing the right way,

Is 40% off for the next 9 days. ⏰

It’s 20 minutes a day. For 100 days.
No chaos needed. Just one small daily action that changes everything.

Join 6400+ students right away.
I’ll see you inside.

Best,
Kesh.
