1) Don't know what to do?
Start and Complete a 30 Day Project.
One of the main ideas I shared in my video called “The practice Trap” (which is weirdly going viral in it’s own way) is that: You need to stop practicing for practice sake.
But where do you go from there?
You need a 30 Day project. ✏️
• Something you can start and finish in a month
• Some form of an art project that you can resonate with (comic, a children’s book, an illustration series or an animation)
• One that represents your larger artistic vision.
Why? 🤔
• It gives you a game to play.
• It focuses your practice.
• It helps you build patience for larger projects that takes more than 30 Days.
What you shouldn’t do: Do not do anything that takes more than 30 days as a beginner artist (if you’ve never done something straight for a month before)
It takes a whole lot of mental skills to go through something longer.
Here’s a list of projects I’ve shared in one of my videos 👇
Pick one. Get started and finish 🙂
2) Drawings of Kumar
I’ve started a new challenge this year called “Drawing the same thing everyday for a year”
I’ll explain why I’m doing this next week.
But here are some drawings from that so far.
Btw I’m drawing my OC ‘Kumar’ for the year.
3) Favourite Quote of the Week
“Winners and Losers have the same goals. You do not rise to the level of your goals. You fall to the level of your systems.”
– James Clear (Atomic Habits)
That’s it.
I’ll see you again next week 🙂
Best,
Kesh.
