1) Making my Comic - "The Shadow Within"
I’ve been busy the past month or two making my comic for the anthology I’m part of called ‘The Sandbox’ and boy oh boy, making comics is hard….
My Comic is filled with action and I’ve been trying to balance it all between the action and the story.
Here are some pencils that I’ve done so far 👇
It’s tough. But,
It’s so worth it – I’m getting to illustrate a story that’s been in my head for 5 years and the whole experience is exhilarating. 🤯
30 pages of pencils and characters I like.
It’s an awesome experience. ✏️
The Takeaway: Comic-making is one of the very few art forms where one could tell an entire story from start to finish with very little tools.
🤔 How can one start?: Create a 30 Page comic – that’s the best place to start in my opinion. And aim to finish it in 100 days or less (deadlines are important)
2) Do the Simple Things
I used to think that you need to Act Big to Win Big.
But no, you need to Think big, Act small but consistently while improving to win big.🚶
I learned this lesson when I accidentally started posting simple reels to my Instagram 5 days a week.
– I gained 70k ish followers in 4 months 👥
This simple act taught me that big things can be achieved with small and consistent action.
3) Favourite Quote of the Week
“The arts are not a way to make a living. They are a very human way of making life more bearable.”
– Kurt Vonnegut
That’s it.
I’ll see you again next week 🙂
Best,
Kesh.
